BreyerFest Best Customs Contest finalist 2021 and 2022

Paulaner — 2nd place — 2022 Theme Class “Make It Work”

Underlying model: Breyer Geronimo (traditional)

Taking the theme “Make It Work” literally, I made “it” into a work horse — specifically a tribute to the Paulaner Brabants who draw the brewery wagon at Munich’s Oktoberfest parade.

When you’re creating custom models on a deadline, “make it work” is ALWAYS the theme!

Gaudí — 3rd place — 2021 Theme Class “Classically Customized”

Underlying model: Breyer Keen (classic)

Celebrating Spain’s colorful contributions to art history and equine genetics

Named in honor of the famed Spanish architect and mosaicist Antoni Gaudí, this sooty buckskin pearl PRE stallion began his life as Breyer’s Classic Keen.

Both his distinctive dappling and his colorful base echo Gaudí’s whimsical Trencar mosaic technique. His base was inspired by the arid climate of the Castellón region, home to the premier modern breeder of pearl Spanish horses, and includes hand-painted miniature majolica pottery — a nod to another beloved Spanish artisanal export.
